Teach, don’t just hand over rods
You’ll rig, cast, read water and fight your own fish — with us coaching at your elbow. Skills compound; handouts don’t.
A father and son from the Snohomish Valley with one shared obsession: putting people on fish — and sending them home better anglers than they arrived.
Our story
Michael put a rod in Ashton’s hands before he could ride a bike. Our family put down roots in the Snohomish Valley, and this river system did the rest — bikes dumped in the brush at the Reiter access, egg patterns tied at the kitchen table, steelhead stories traded over dinner until they turned into lesson plans.
Years of guiding friends, family and friends-of-friends made it obvious: the best part of a day on the water isn’t the fish you land — it’s watching someone else land their first. So we built Northwest Anglers around that feeling.
Every trip is led by Ashton — Michael is on the water too, rowing the boat, rigging backups and backing up the coaching. No subcontractor guides, no cattle boats. Two generations, one standard: you leave a better angler than you arrived.
How we guide
You’ll rig, cast, read water and fight your own fish — with us coaching at your elbow. Skills compound; handouts don’t.
Catch-photo-release on wild fish, barbless options, proper handling, and respect for closures — because the next generation deserves this too.
Licensed, insured, CPR/first-aid certified. Heated boats, quality PFDs, honest weather calls. The river is serious; so are we.
